Infusion Services

About

The Infusion Centers are staffed with registered nurses and pharmacists who specialize in outpatient intravenous care.

Services provided vary by location but may include:

• Intravenous fluids for re-hydration
• Antibiotics
• Chemotherapy (not available at the Clare location)
• Specialty medications

And targeted therapies to treat a variety of conditions including:

• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Crohn’s disease
• Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
• Immune disorders

Supportive care for blood disorders is also provided, including:

• Blood and platelet transfusions
• Intravenous iron replacement

In addition to infusions, the nurses are available to assist with dressing changes, maintenance and care for central lines and implanted ports, as well as obtaining blood specimens for laboratory tests that may be ordered.
