WellSport
In addition to injury prevention, MidMichigan's WellSport Sports Medicine Program is designed to help expedite the assessment, referral and treatment of athletes of all ages suffering from strains, sprains, contusions, fractures, joint injuries and concussions. The program focuses on injury prevention through education and training, helping injured athletes return to play as safely and quickly as possible, as well as managing medical conditions that can affect performance.
Providing care oversight at the WellSport Bay City location is Sports Medicine Specialist Daniel Diaz, D.O. Dr. Diaz provides sports injury evaluation, treatment and preventive care for athletes of all levels and ages.
Orthopedics
Appointments are available with Orthopedic Surgeon David Lyons, D.O. Dr. Lyons hold specialized fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery. He treats both pediatric and adult general orthopedics patients and is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of injuries, disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. This system includes bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves and tendons. His special procedures include:
- Pediatric and adult ACL reconstruction
- Sports medicine procedures
- Pediatric and adult fracture care
- Hip and knee reconstruction
