Inpatient Psychiatric Program

The Inpatient Psychiatric Program at MyMichigan Medical Center Sault cares about your mental health as much as your physical health. Our behavioral health team is here to help you with life’s challenges. We support you in reaching your wellness goals.

About Our Inpatient Program

If you're 18 or older and need 24-hour help for a serious mental health issue, our 20-bed inpatient facility is ready to assist you. We offer a safe, calm, and caring place where you can focus on healing.

We care for people facing a variety of mental health conditions, such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Schizophrenia
  • Mood disorders
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • And more

What to Expect

When you arrive, we’ll work with you to understand your symptoms and help you build on your strengths. You will get a physical health exam and a psychiatric evaluation to begin.

Then, we’ll create a treatment plan for you, which may include:

  • One-on-one and group therapy
  • Recreational therapy, like music, art, or movement
  • Medication management to support your recovery

Who Will Help You

A team of team of experts dedicated to your progress will care for you, including:

  • Board-certified psychiatrists
  • Nurses with specialized training
  • Social workers
  • Occupational and physical therapists
  • And other skilled MyMichigan Health staff

We work together with you every step of the way to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered.

What Happens After You Leave

Your recovery doesn’t end when you leave our care. We’ll help you create a plan for what comes next—an aftercare plan for you. It may include:

  • Therapy or psychiatry appointments
  • Family counseling or education
  • Help finding housing or a job
  • Referrals to community resources

How to Get Inpatient Care

Our inpatient program can refer you by:
