About

MyMichigan Medical Center Sault believes in a family-centered approach to maternity care. We recognize that childbirth is important to mothers, fathers, significant others and the rest of the family. So our nurses, physicians and other medical professionals will do everything they can to ensure that your family will have a positive, safe birth experience. Our services include:

  • Vaginal births and births that require additional expertise, such as twins, preterm deliveries, cesarean sections and induced labor
  • Highly skilled, caring nurses
  • State of the art labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) suites
  • A proactive pain-management philosophy
  • Infant nutrition and lactation support
  • A family-friendly visiting policy

Families who want to acquaint themselves with the facility before the big day are invited to schedule a tour of the unit. Staff members are always proud to showcase the top-notch services and technology found in the birthing center. An advance tour also allows the prospective parents to fill out any paperwork, which simplifies the process when the big day occurs.

Visiting Hours

For the safety of the babies and the comfort of those experiencing labor and delivery, we have some visitation policies that are specific to our unit. We ask for your cooperation on the following:

  • Fathers are encouraged to visit anytime.
  • Siblings of any age can visit from 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. as long as they are with an adult for supervision.
  • Visits from children under the age of 10 who are not siblings are prohibited.
  • General visitation is from 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. We ask for no more than 3 visitors in the rooms at a time if possible.

Important: Visitation will not be allowed to anyone who is ill (fever, cough, sore throat) or anyone who has had immunizations within the last 10 days.

For security purposes, all visitors must enter through a door monitored by staff. Please ring-in utilizing the electronic bell located on the wall next to the OB entry doors. Staff will release the door to allow entry or exit.
