Hospital Room Amenities at MyMichigan Medical Center Sault

We have a mixture of semi-private and private rooms at MyMichigan Medical Center Sault. If you have a preference, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. 

  • Room - Your room has been carefully chosen for you based on the type of medical care you will need and the appropriate nursing unit that can provide that care for you. If you would prefer a private room, every effort will be made to obtain one for you, based on availability. 
  • Bedside Assistance - Once you arrive in your room, your nurse will show you how to operate the bed controls, use the bed rails, and the locations of the call button. There also is a call bell cord in the bathroom. Do not hesitate to use the call button at your bedside or in the bathroom if you need assistance.

  • Room Temperature - If your room is too hot or too cold, please inform your care team.
  • Television - All rooms have Cable TV. There is no additional charge for this service.
  • Phone - All rooms have telephones with free local calls. If you wish to make long distance calls, we recommend you bring a pre-paid phone card. Patients may receive incoming calls. Ask a member of your care team for the phone number to your room.
  • Bathrooms - All rooms have toilets, sinks and showers.
  • Meal Service - "At your request" meals are ordered anytime between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. You will choose from a menu of selections approved by your doctor. If you have special dietary needs, such as kosher/vegetarian or food allergies please tell your nurse. We also have a cafeteria and vending machines available for hospital visitors. A complimentary guest meal tray is provided for one parent of a pediatric patient.
  • Environmental Services - We are eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms are cleaned each day. This includes cleaning the bathroom, removing trash, mopping the floor, dusting, and making sure that the room is sanitary. Bed linens are changed when soiled. If you need to have your bed linens straightened or changed, please inform your care team.
  • Smoking - MyMichigan Medical Center Sault is a Smoke-Free Environment. Therefore, smoking and other use of tobacco or tobacco products is prohibited on all of our properties.
  • Personal Electronic Equipment - To promote a safe environment for all of our patients, no personal electrical equipment such as electric razors, curling irons, hair dryers, etc. are allowed.
  • Leaving the Unit - Please do not leave your unit except under the supervision of a member of the hospital staff. It is important for you to be in the unit when your physician visits, or when it is time for you to receive treatment.
  • Medical and Guest Services - We have comprehensive services in the hospitals to meet your treatment and recovery needs and to make your stay more convenient. These include:
    • Labs, radiology and most of the other diagnostic tests that might be required during your stay.
    • Rehabilitation services if ordered by your doctor for recovery.
    • Spiritual care.
    • Medical social workers to provide disease education, counseling for you and your family and access to community resources.
    • Discharge planning services to help you understand your doctor's orders, prepare your home, arrange for care providers and equipment for the home, or to find long-term care facilities if needed.
